Lawyering for Good: An Introduction to Pro Bono Work

In partnership with Law Society Pro Bono Services, #SMUYPHSL organised a talk Lawyering for Good: An Introduction to Pro Bono Work for our freshmen on 10 August, featuring guest speakers Mr Abraham Vergis SC (Law Society’s Pro Bono Ambassador 2021 and Managing Partner of Providence Law Asia) and Ms Priscilla Chia (SMU alumnus and Senior Associate in Providence Law Asia).

This talk was part of SMU Law Kickstarter 2022, an orientation programme for incoming law students. Our students were privileged to hear our speakers sharing about how their desire to do good gave them the opportunity to forge connections with fellow humans, enriched their own personal lives and gave them the continuing impetus to serve through their legal practice.
